Historic & Motorsport Gears
Gears for historic and competition vehicles
Tandler have supplied many gears for historic vehicles, for both road and competition use. Drawings of gears for such vehicles are not generally available; therefore the gears have to be "reverse engineered" from samples supplied.
Using the latest materials and manufacturing processes we are able to recreate gears which are higher quality, with greater strength and life than the originals.
Some examples of the vehicles we have supplied gears for are:
Alfa Romeo
Aston Martin
Audi
Bentley
BMW
Ferrari
Lancia
Lotus
Porsche
Where historic vehicles are used in competition, or with non original wheel and tyre combinations, it is often found that the original gear ratios are no longer suitable. We can design and manufacture special ratio gears for both gearboxes and final drives.
Our manufacturing facility is equipped with the most up to date machinery for cutting and grinding of all types of gears and splines.
Hardening is carried out in our own ISO 9001:2000 certified heat treatment facility, using the most suitable computer controlled process for the material and the application. After hardening and finish machining, the gears are subjected to rigorous checks in our inspection department to ensure that, like all Tandler products, they meet the most stringent quality standards.
Because all the manufacturing processes are carried out in our factory, we are able to control all stages of the manufacturing process, ensuring that the highest levels of quality are maintained.
