As the performance of electric motors, drive systems and test equipment continues to accelerate, so too does the demand for gearboxes capable of operating at significantly higher rotational speeds. This trend is especially prominent in the testing and development of electric vehicle motors and transmissions, where test rigs increasingly require components that can run safely and reliably at extreme speeds.
In recent years, application requirements of up to 30,000 r/min have become common, speeds that were previously regarded as impractical or unattainable. Advances in gear design, bearing technology and lubrication systems have transformed what is possible. Leveraging these developments, Tandler has gained the expertise and manufacturing capability to engineer gearboxes that operate with exceptional stability, precision and durability under these demanding conditions.
Every high-speed gearbox we produce is fully customised for the application. Working closely with our customers, we ensure each gearbox is engineered to accommodate the exact speed, torque, load and environmental requirements of the test rig or system. High-Torque Gearboxes
Tandler’s standard spiral bevel gearboxes deliver rated torques of up to 10,000 Nm, which covers the majority of industrial and testing applications. However, some environments demand significantly higher torque capacities, often far beyond what standard catalogue gearboxes can provide.
To meet these extreme requirements, we offer high-torque gearbox solutions that build upon our proven standard designs. Depending on the application, this may include modified gears, upgraded bearing configurations, reinforced shafts, or the complete development of a fully bespoke gearbox engineered from the ground up.
High-torque gearboxes are typically required for lower-speed applications, although exceptions do exist. Regardless of speed, Tandler has the capability to design and manufacture both right-angle and helical (parallel-shaft) gearbox solutions that deliver exceptional strength, precision and longevity.
