PRESS RELEASE Extra Compact Couplings For Clean ApplicationsThe R+W SK range of torque limiters is characterised by its highly compact and uncomplicated design, patented backlash-free operation and millisecond disengagement. Available in the UK from TANDLER PRECISION, this popular range is widely used to protect highly dynamic drives worldwide. Now this proven product programme has a new option. For applications in clean-rooms and in food, electronic and pharmaceutical production, a dedicated design has now been introduced.
To protect the coupling from the ingress of dirt, aggressive cleaning detergents and other manufacturing fluids, the SK range can be specified completely sealed. This option also ensures no grease can leak out of the coupling. An O-ring is inserted in the base element of the coupling and covered by an extended actuation ring. This simple arrangement ensures the external dimensions of the coupling remain unchanged.
The latest generation of SK couplings takes advantage of optimised disc springsand new materials that ensure better performance and less weight. These improvements have allowed the size of the R+W coupling to be greatly reduced, as much as a third by comparison with competitive products. The patented spring loaded ball detent design guarantees reliable and superior protection against overload even under heavy loads and ensures high repeatability of the pre-set disengagement torque.
Four designs complete this 0.1 to 2,800Nm range. The SK1 is for timing belt and chain applications, SK2 has a clamped hub for direct drives and SK3 a tapered clamp connection for direct drives. SK5 is a press fit version. The sealing option is available on all types. Nitrocaburized, oxidized and nickel plating may be specified for all the steel types in the range. The complete product programme is also available in stainless steel.

PowerMaster Gearboxes From Tandler - More Torque, Less Space
… TANDLER introduces a new range of spiral bevel gearboxes
TANDLER Precision spiral bevel gearboxes have proven their versatility for over 50 years. Every surface is machined for universal mounting capability and the power they pack is amongst the highest in the industry.
Now, in response to customer requests for higher torque capacities in smaller gearbox sizes, a new series has been added to the range. The new PowerMaster gearboxes are available in three sizes with maximum torque of 300Nm, 640Nm and 1200Nm and in three ratios per size of 1:1, 2:1 and 3:1.
The introduction of the range provides the machine designer with greater flexibility when choosing gearboxes from the TANDLER range and a highly cost effective solution for the transmission of high torque in a small space.
A re-design of the gears, shafts and bearing arrangements within the gearbox has enabled TANDLER to increase torque capacity substantially within a similar sized envelope. The gearboxes are not dimensionally identical to the existing range but the same basic casing size is retained.
For example, the standard B1 spiral bevel gearbox has a maximum torque capacity of 600Nm whereas its PowerMaster size-equivalent has a rating of 1200Nm. So the output torque capacity of the new model is double that of its forerunner.
The new PowerMaster range may be specified with solid shafts, hollow output shaft with keyway and hollow output shaft with shrink disk.
